For those patients looking for a more traditional treatment option for straightening their teeth, Ferrari Orthodontics is pleased to offer both metal and ceramic (clear) braces.
While they may be considered to be traditional in their appearance, at Ferrari Orthodontics, we use the most innovative and groundbreaking technology to provide our patients with the most up to date and relevant methods - even for our “traditional” braces patients.
LIFE WITH BRACES
Here’s what to expect as you embark upon your smile journey with braces.
At Ferrari Orthodontics we do our best to make your first appointment quick and easy. The procedure itself is painless and lasts for about one hour.

We start by inserting cheek retractors to help keep your cheeks away from your teeth, ensuring that the teeth can stay dry throughout the bonding procedure.
After we have dried the teeth, we will apply a special gel that prepares the surface of the teeth for the placement of the brackets.

Once the teeth are ready for bracket placement, we add the braces one by one after coating the back of them with a thin layer of glue. A curing light will then be used to harden this glue, thereby bonding the bracket to the tooth.
Once all the brackets have been placed and cured with the light, the orthodontic wire can be passed through the brackets and secured in place.

We will then go over how to care for the braces including oral hygiene instruction as well as what foods to avoid.

What does self-ligating mean?
Self-ligating braces are different from traditional braces in that the wire is secured inside the bracket using a clip or door.
At Ferrari Orthodontics, we are committed to using advanced technology and therefore use self-ligating Damon braces. These braces differ from traditional braces in that the wire is held in place by a door that is part of the bracket and not an elastic color tie that is used on traditional braces.
